Stars set to shine in Cricket Super 8's

In an exciting development for cricket in the Snowy Mountains, next week will see the launch of the inaugural MDCA Super 8’s Cricket Competition. The tournament which will run from November to February will be open to cricketers and non-cricketers of all ages who want to come on down and have a go at a fast and furious style of cricket.

Most matches will be played under the shining stars and floodlights at Rotary oval in Cooma on Tuesdays and Friday evenings. With up to 32 teams and 256 players participating this promises to be a fun inclusive competition with plenty of cricket action. The games will be 45 minutes per innings with two games played per night between four teams of 8 players.

The Super 8’s rules include modified batting and bowling conditions to accommodate all abilities with coloured soft style balls and coloured clothing encouraged. With a family festival atmosphere where everyone is welcome to bowl a ball and swing a bat the Super 8’s are set to become a popular fun night out.  BBQ and Canteen facilities will be available and all kids will receive a giveaway and the best dressed Super 8’s side will receive a prize.

Businesses are encouraged to register a team of 8 workmates and their families, to have a great night out and possibly win some prizes or the trophy as MDCA 2011/12 Super 8’s Champions. The first MDCA Super 8’s night is to be hosted by the Coffeys Cricket Club on Friday 18th November from 5:30pm – 9pm at Rotary Oval. To register a side either call Stuart from Sports Business Consulting on 0422 496 400.
